Heya crew,

Was wondering if I could get some help with choosing my next guitar?

I'm in Australia so all values will be in AUD.

There are 3 guitars that have come up on my radar that have piqued my interest. Obviously, I can't buy all of them so I'm reaching out here for some opinions.

Jackson RRX24 battleship grey with Black bevels $1589

Jackson KV6 Corey Beaulieu - Winter storm $2199 apparently down from $3099

ESP LTD M-400 $1499

If you had the choice, which guitar would you be getting?

I have never had any experience with Jackson, so I'd appreciate any sort of input! Is the Corey B Jackson $600 better than the RRX24?

I'm looking for a guitar with a Floyd Rose 1000.

Also, any other suggestions would be great!

Thanks guys.....and gals.

Whether a guitar is $600 "better" or "worse" depends on specs and playing style. Along with the V-style, I also love Jackson Kellys and BC Rich Mockingbirds, purely for the aesthetics.

Just because I had the opportunity, I tried out a $2500 Mock and a $1500 King V. For my style of playing, I couldn't really identify where the extra $1000 was, nor could I really differentiate the feel, weight, heft, etc. of those vs. the similarly shaped ones in my current collection, so I didn't buy either. I already have a Mock in my collection that I love, as well as a Warmoth V. And I have two more Warmoth Vs in the project queue, so I have no need to buy a brand name King V.

Instead, I bought the Nita Strauss Ibanez Jiva10. Felt different than any other guitar in my collection due to shape of body & weight. I still sound like "me," though.

If I had my choice, it would just depend on how each of those guitars feel when I play them. If, based on my playing style, I can't truly tell any significant audible difference (remembering to avoid the Princess-and-the-Pea claims of being able to identify minuscule & insignificant differences as if they were world-shattering variations like those in other communities say they can....), then the decision comes down to how the guitars feel and how appealing the appearance is.

Jackson RRX24 (y) ... in the past couple years I have had a few Indonesian "Pro" Jacksons (the ones with the Duncan pickups) and the quality has been EXCELLENT. Well worth the asking price, IMHO

ESP a bit overpriced, and the other Jackson - seriously overpriced...
