This guitar is seriously rad. It's lean, clean, and mean! But after seeing the glare in the mock-up pic, I can't help but think that it would also look pretty cool with a white racing stripe!  :icon_thumright:

I was thinking when i looked at the guitar that i would go the fender mustang stripes
in white but my reasoning is that the team i follow in Aussie Rules Football colours are Red White and Black.

With the overly routed neck humbucker, a ring may have a hard time grabbing.  A hybrid PG maybe.  Black Pearl or Blk/Wht/Blk would look great.

Nope, it's definitely not just you.  I thought the exact same thing when I saw that reflection.  The red and black motif always makes me think of fast cars.

Quick update...I haven't gotten too much done on this beast...I've been trying to get my T-Maxx running properly and that's been a pain lately hehe...and it feels weird to be working on this guitar.  I've been wanting to do this for about 10 years, and now that it's here, I'm finding it really strange and surreal to be working on it.  Strange.  Anyhoo!

Painted the pickup cavities...don't think it looks the best, and the thought ran through my head to do a coat of red, but it wouldn't match exactly...and that would drive me even crazier...

Bridge mounted...damn I love how this looks.

Tuners installed...thanks to jbohr who said he used a ruler to straighten out the tuners!  I hadn't even thought of that...

Ferrules installed.  Used the soldering iron technique, but muffed up my first one as I didn't realize how hot the body was getting, so the paint bubbled a little around the first ferrule...so I'm kinda pissed at myself for that one, but it's not TOO noticeable and as long as the paint doesn't chip and flake away...but that adds character, right?  Right?  Yea...I screwed up...heh
