Title of the post says it all. We want to see a carved top tele completed, with great pics, that we can oooh and aaah over. Cmon, we know there are hundreds and hundreds of lurkers out there. W doesn't send spam, and we're (usually) nice!
Please???

I just ordered up a carved Tele.  Rosewood on mahogany (to balance out with a heavy Kramer aluminum neck).  I'll post pics when I get it if you guys promise to put up with my finishing and wiring questions...

Thanks for the kind words, all.

I just checked with Warmoth, and it looks like it might ship by the end of next week!

Here's a mockup, more or less:

...but it'll have a Kramer aluminum neck with a headstock like this:

And a Hipshot Contour tremolo and a middle pickup ring.  Can't wait!

Ha!  I like the spare parts off to the side in that mock-up.  If you are anything like most of us, you will end up with that in the real picture as well.

That should be pretty sweet, love the old Kramer headstock. :icon_thumright:    I just hope it's not an original Kramer neck, cause it ain't gonna work on a Warmoth body...

It is an original Kramer aluminum neck (from a 350G).  Turns out it's a little wider than the Tele pocket, so my local guitar shop (http://www.geoffbengesguitarshop.com/ does great work) is going to fit the pocket for it.

I'm actually going for the Hipshot knobs with the rubber rings on chrome (not an option on the kisekae thing).  What look like domes behind the 3 knobs are actually going to be 3-way toggles (maybe they won't fit that close though); one to choose from neck, middle, or both, the other to choose between the output of that first toggle and the bridge HB, or both.  Volume and tone for the neck and middle, volume only for the bridge.  That way I can get my main, straight-up bridge sound, a flick of a switch from whatever quieter/warmer sounds I want.  Oh, and they'll be Lace Drop&Gains and probably a Lace Burgandy.  Not that anyone asked :).

And all those parts on the upper right are for sale, if you'd like to use them in your own mockup...

i don't see the need for all the extra parts in the corner of your mock up...  :icon_biggrin:  kidding. it looks pretty damn awesome! i'll be interested to see the body, and how that headstock looks on a tele.

oh, and in the mock up thing: if you drag your extra parts to the bottom right hand corner it'll erase them. i found that out accidentally one day.

can't wait to see this thing when it gets to you!

Ok, I'm finished finishing and I finally got around to taking pictures:  http://www.blankbanker.com/main/Kramercaster_body.html

I'm pretty happy with the finish.  I do wish I had sanded it out after it got routed, and that I hadn't pushed so hard with the steel wool that one time.  But there's nothing you can really see without closely inspecting it in just the right light.  Hopefully I'll get the electronics done this weekend or so, then I'll string it up and take more pics.

tried to post some pictures from the link, but looks like i can't post them unless i stole the pictures and put them on my own flickr account  :icon_biggrin:  definitely looks great! will be interesting to see how it matches with that aluminum neck and strange headstock.

That's looking seriously good!

It's done!

I might replace the Drop & Gains, the rosewood is still kinda weeping oil (from the wood or the finish I don't know), and I'm thinking of replacing the zero fret with a stainless one and the aluminum string guide with a graphite one to alleviate some pitch return problems, but overall it's a real, playable guitar.

Fricken Cool Dude!!!......LOve the originality...and that body is grade A....nice. :icon_thumright:  make sure to get some pics in the Gallery......We need Pics like these to drool over..lol :laughing7:
