Here we go again. Despite still not finishing the last build (or taking proper photos of the bass that was completed some time ago), another one starts.
This one will be another 'budget range' model, following in the footsteps of my 12 -string. I bought an unfinished Guitarbuild.co.uk Jazzmaster body a while ago and now, 4 weeks after ordering, the neck is here.
Roasted maple Warmoth baritone conversion neck
One concession to luxury - black MOP dots
Swamp ash body. Nice and light - about 3lb 12oz
This will be getting a Wudtone treatment, or possibly some other easy diy finish. No bridge route/drilling as you can see; hopefully I'll be able to mount the Schaller 3D6 in the right place.
Just a few bits and pieces apart from the neck included in the Warmoth order. I'll be using a couple of Mustang slide switches (yes, I do know it's a Jazzmaster). I knew the dimensions before ordering but they still look enormous.
I'll be documenting this build as slowly as usual, so don't start biting those nails just yet, thrillseekers.
