I personally think "air combat" for the sega mega drive is the best!

Everyone should listen to every song if they get the chance.

well since i just put 3 VH songs onto NBA 2k11 i think that one :icon_biggrin: but in all seriousness thats a pretty good question. in terms of atmosphere games like Red Dead Revolver, Fallout 3, or some of the NCAA College Football games have to be way up there. but just good modern music? there have been some Madden games with really badass soundtracks.

I usually turn off the soundtrack when I am playing modern games. Its usually some orchestral racket, and thats the last thing i want to hear when I am playing an FPS. Especially in Games like Doom 3, where the atmosphere is such a big element of the gameplay.

i almost always turn the music off in racing games too just because i want to hear the cars. especially in games like Test Drive: Unlimited

The intro music to Auf Wiedersehen Monty was the first video game music I really liked I think. Greatest ? Probably not, but I think it was at the time.

Homeworld, pc game from 1999 is great. Yes did one track on it. I still listen to it occasionally.

i think it was Gran Turismo 2... had Garbage, Rob Zombie, Foo Fighters, Filter, and Stone Temple Pilots on it. great soundtrack! i swear i thought "Turbo Lover" by Judas Priest was on there too but it doesn't list it in the soundtrack list i found online.

and Tony Hawk games ALWAYS had great soundtracks. don't know how i left those out in my first post.

Turbo Lover was in GT3

For some reason the only one that came to mind was the music in Burnout 2. I like the guitars in that.

Dynasty Warrior games always had some pretty great 10 minute guitar solos in them while you ran around and mindlessly slashed at people :icon_biggrin:

My all time fav video game music was from the now very old ROTT (Rise of the Triad).  All nice Jazz numbers!

Then again, on the original "Quake" you could add you're own soundtrack.  So I'd sit there shooting the monsters and such, all while listening to Keith Green singing about how he loves Jesus as I reload.

The Halo series, and Elder Scrolls series, hands down

Yeah man, I'd have to vote Morrowind for the "All Time" category. STILL a great game if you add all the graphics updates,
it rivals Oblivion!

I'm just waiting for Elder Scrolls 5 :toothy10: Seriously, I've used over 150 hours playing Oblivion, and about 60 on Morrowind :toothy11:
Both games have seriously epic soundtracks, hands down to Jeremy Soule(he composes with a lot of SOUL(e) :icon_tongue:)
I also think that the soundtrack from Gothic 3 is quite nice, but it can be quite repetitive :tard:
I am obliged to like any game that has a heavy metal-soundtrack, too :toothy11:

i'm just excited for the new fallout game :icon_biggrin: it was weird playing the last one since it was set in this area. it was funny walking around in the germantown police station since when i got arrested thats where i was finger printed :laughing7:

if the vegas game they're about to put out is half as good as fallout 3 then i'll be playing it for weeks!

EDIT: and proof that i really do love the fallout 3 soundtrack haha
