Make A Fool Out Of Me

This new song is about the Fool inside all of us ... and as always: fallen out of time  :icon_biggrin:

At the very beginning there was just the idea to make a song with a nice shuffle beat which I have always liked a lot. I've got some inspiration from 70s/80s shuffle songs like "If This Is It" (Huey Lewis & The News) and "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" (Elvin Bishop). And this initial shuffle beat idea (in a 12/8 notation) has guided me through the whole song writing.

I've played a few slide guitar parts to add some song sweetness. Not really good on that, but okay-ish, I think.

There is a splitted Bridge with an instrumental and a vocal part. Over the years I more and more have realized the importance of bridge parts in good song arrangements. The challenge is not so much to move away from the song center over the "Bridge". The more challenging thing is to find a proper way back with the Bridge again. Otherwise a Bridge can quickly turn into an isolated fragment inside of the song.

I think I've found a nice hook line for the chorus part. What do you think ?

The Outro Solo part has an 80s Hard Rock vibe with that wider finger vibrato.

Any feedbacks, questions or comments are greatly welcome!

Outstanding! There's nothing much more satisfying than a good shuffle. You used smooth transitions that keep the listener moving forward. I kept thinking, "Oh, yeah" all the way through. You did really did this one right. :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Rgand  - I am pleased to hear that you like this shuffle song thing :icon_thumright: It's that type of groove I can listen to in an endless loop  :icon_jokercolor:
