I have to say Im a bit nervous....I ordered a one piece alder 3lb 7oz body and the package headed my way is 6lbs and 10oz  seems like an awfull lot of packaging material for a body shipment....Im praying there wasnt a mix up in my body order as I ordered Black Gloss finish.
...guess I will have to weigh it and make sure its correct upon arrival.....does 3lbs seem like too much shipping material or does that sound about right?
just curious I guess I will know for sure tommorrow.

that does seem like a lot for the body... you didn't order hardware and/or pickups too? a little strange... can't wait to see what you get though!

ok more accurately the UPS order says 6.1lbs so I guess its not way off though I did also route out for a humbucker in the bridge so that would drop the 3lbs 7oz down a bit then add paint....lol  guess Im a  bit nervous, this guitar has been in my head for 3 months of mind battling details, and now that its coming close to completion Im getting a bit wacky....as you know I won't feel good until the whole thing is done and Im jamming it for a while....always speculating about the details...ahhhh.....alright let me go drive myself crazy in anticipation waiting.....later..... :blob7:

My one-piece alder body weighted in at 7.1 lbs on shipment but it's quite light, I didn't weight it but if I were you I wouldn't worry about it too much

I think that's about right. Tonar just shipped my body back to me (arrives tomorrow!) the body is 3 lb 11 oz but UPS lists weight at 7.5 lb.

I put a lot of rags in that box to protect the finish but I don’t think they weighed that much.  :laughing7:

I appreciate the input, I realise Im being a total dweeb, but you know how excited you get when you know those ever important, most expensive, pieces are finally on the way.
Im sure it is perfect, and now at least I can start doing the foil and soldering and hardware and all that fun stuff........just waiting for the Neck to make her complete..ordered that January 8th so shouldnt be much more than a month out from here max so Im getting edgy......god am I happy knowing the brown truck is coming by tommorrow.

Just wanted to say My Body arrived today and it is absolutely awesome, it is gloss black so nothing unique as in a figured top, however I have absolutely no doubts or reservations in my decision to have Warmoth finish it in poly.....

The finish is very, very thin and the body is as light as I could ever hope it to be. I am absolutely certain the poly finish will have no ill affect to the tone of this guitar, it weighs 3lbs 7oz, and is a One Piece Alder body, and I could not expect the finish to be any nicer looking or thinner than it is now even if it was finished in Nitro. I used to believe that Nitro was the only way to go for the best tone, but I will never believe that again.

Im waiting on my foil and a few tools to arrive and then the body hardware and electronics assembly begins.

                                                                                                              Thank you Warmoth!!!!
