well, I haven't done much, but I'm putting th emoney together for all the hardware.  I have clipped the pickup legs so they now fit into the pickup routs.  I've done a simple mock up of the guitar which I've attached.  I'm just after some feedback regarding tuners.
I plan on using a black bridge, and a black pickup rings (I'll put some gold metal tops on and see if that looks any good).  My big decision is what colour tuners should I use?  I was thinking gold or black.  I was also thinking perhaps gold for the standard strings, and black for the octave strings, or would that look too weird???

Nah man, be different!  Go gold for one set of strings, black for the other!  I think that would be pretty sweet...

That is a totally unique build. Personally, I'd match the tuners to the hardware. You don't need to go "wacky" to make that guitar stand out. It's already in a league of its own.

Quick question, String ferrules - I was going to get some for the back, do I require them for the top?  I'm assuming that I will, even though the holes will be covered by the bridge? THis will prevent the strings digging into the bodywork, yes?

Gotoh 12-string. 6 strings load through the body.
