I am sick and tired of the media slinging me shit and biased views on the topic, can someone on here who knows a lot about the subject give me a complete impartial argument to the issue?

Sure the earth is warming up, but is there really any evidence that outright proves we are the cause? Of course pollution and less trees and all that jazz, but I'm honestly sick of the media and other overpaid idiots trying to give me so called facts when its ALL speculation and HYPOTHESIS! The earth is warming up sure, but after reading/watching something that tells us that the earth was hotter then it is now, are we the cause of this temperature rise? Apparently the world produces an X amount of carbon dioxide and currently the plants cant adsorb the amount we produce. I forgot they had machines attached to every exhaust pipe and chimney in the world. Obviously I'm not naive enough to just expect this gas to disappear and have no impact on the world, but I also read there is much more harmful gasses that are produced that do far MORE damage then the old CO2 so why all the fuss about carbon dioxide?

P.S Vicky Pope is a stupid cow (I hope she read that...Bitch)

Global warming don't exist bro. It is just an false pretext to usher in a global government.

We may be the cause, but it warmed and cooled before we ever had SUVs.  30 years ago, the conventional wisdom said we were headed towards another ice age.  Wait another 30 years, who knows?

I liked the point where people realized that the holes in the ozone layer had always been there.

in case you wonder why people stopped talking about it

I brought that up with someone in conversation the other day.  Their response is that it came back because we quit using CFCs and Freon.  lol

Without being disrespectful, anyone who a) doesn't believe in global warming, and b) doesn't think we had anything to do with it needs their head read. My wife is a scientist with PhD (in microbiology hers) but she has access to all manner of scientific papers and it's happening- and we are a huge part of the problem unfortunately.

Cheers, Cletus.

I agree we have something to do with it. we even make it worse. but we're working fast to change the very technologies that CONTRIBUTE.

but to generalize, humans have this arrogance in thinking we have the ability to end the world. we don't.

we lack, and may always lack the ability to END the world.

what we have the capacity to do, is change earth systems to such a degree as it would make living here very unpleasant.

wow... Using the Bible to make a scientific point... um...

I respect the guy, but I know how people will react to that.

good luck.

Monckton is a total fraud, and has been proved wrong. Repeatedly. Feel free to google it.

I'm 14 minutes in, he keeps saying facts are coming. but so far all I'm seeing is manipulative, theatrical tangents. when does he actually make the scientific point he says he has?

EDIT: 25 minutes in I realize he's a manipulative liar like Hannity or Beck, and give up on him.

your Mileage may vary.

With all do respect, there are many experts on both sides that are very smart, very educated, and disagree.  Some even have husbands on online forums.  My point being, even the so-called experts disagree on the cause.  FWIW, evidence of global warming is being seen on some of the other planets in the solar system, none of which have human interference.  The one thing we have in common with those other planets, the Sun.

My Earth's Atmosphere professor in college had a PhD in paleoclimatology, and he thought it was BS.  I don't think anyone really knows for sure, but I don't think it's worth completely changing our way of life based on an uncertainty, especially because even if people are causing it, there is no guarantee we could reverse the effects with policies.  Plus it would be very hard to get the entire world on the same page about it.

Also, higher temperatures are really good for the rainforests because the greenhouse effect promotes plant growth.  When I was a kid, all the environmental stuff was about saving the rainforests, and now it's all about saving the poles.  Kind of funny when you think about it.

Exactly.  The thought of global warming sounds terrible, but compared to an ice age, we can survive, even thrive.  I've noticed recently that global warming has been used less and less and it's being replaced with "climate change."  It doesn't fit with the agenda, but some places are actually getting colder and having record low temperatures.

It was just one man's anecdotal observation, but on my last trip to Oregon, a local said the temp has gotten colder in the 200 years since the white man has been there.  Ponderosa Pines, which thrive in hot days and cold nights, are being overtaken by Firs, which require cool days and cold nights.

I'll have to get my uncle to send me the link, but apparently there was an article somewhere about a guy who decided to raft through the melting glaciers to illustrate how bad the global warming problem was.  The only thing wrong with his idea: the glaciers weren't melted enough because in the year or two he had spent planning the expedition, the temperature went down enough that a lot of the ice came back.  The guy got stuck somewhere and had to be airlifted out because all he had for transportation was a raft.  I can't help but wonder what he said to all of his friends when he got home.  "Ummm, so it didn't really work..."

+1

I would have to look it up for more info, but some scientist have been pointing out that global warming seems to be coming from the bottom of the oceans. The water is heating up at the bottom, which means the earths core is heating up and the same seems to be happening on other planet as well.
Dont remember were the * i read it though.. (got to go look for it)
