Give me ideas for my 3rd build. What shall I do?

I am currently in the process of completing my 2nd build - a fiesta red baritone Tele.

I also have a Tele Deluxe with P90s, and a G&L ASAT Special. What shall I do next?

I like: Jazzmaster shapes, single coils, lower-output humbuckers, hardtail Strats, Teles (obviously), 'classic' Fender finishes.

I don't like: quilt tops, gold hardware, shred guitars, floyd roses, pearloid pickguards, high output pickups.

I'm thinking of doing a 2 humbucker Tele, or maybe dual-TV Jones'd thing along the lines of the Fender Custom Shop La Cabronita Especial. That or a Jazzmaster with a t-o-m and stop-tail set up, or possibly a hardtail Strat.

Throw some build ideas at me. I'm open minded.

Tobacco burst carved top Tele with binding. Nice dark neck, perhaps wenge with ebony fretboard. 2 x TV Jones pickups, string through over TOM.
Oh wait, that's also my dream, but you can have it  :icon_thumright:

Hmmm, nice idea! I think with tobacco burst a maple board would be the way to go.

do that, but on a split jazzmaster. ash body. I don't know about the dark neck. I'd go canary/rosewood or something. maybe even all rosewood

That would also be cool. Always loved Jazzmasters. A split Jazzmaster body with two TV Jones and a ToM and Stop Tail would rule.

Somehow I don't think the Split Jazzmaster kinda looks quite as good as a non-split jazz.

totally a matter of taste. Having the full pickguard also leaves you the choice to get a different pickguard with any kind of pickup layout you want to try.

Yup...

Take it could order the body set-up for a Tune-o-Matic and string thru body (and ferrules) rather than using a stop tailpiece?

your third!! man im envious, i dont even have 1 yet...  something tells me when i get it, im gonna spend every hard earned £££ on warmoth. i'll probably end up with hundreds of guitars.

The reason I went for wenge/ebony is a personal preference. I've played a maple necked strat for years and I love it, but I'm crying out for a change of scene  :laughing7:

Mary Kaye colored nashville telecaster with a tortoise pickguard. Oh wait, that's the build I want to do  :toothy12:

Eww. I'm not a fan of Les Pauls anyway, unless you're talking about a double-cut P90 Jr.

Okay, how about a flat-top Les Paul Special doublecut in ash, no pickguard, Mary Kaye finish, and a pair of tortoise-shell-bobbin Harmonic Design Z90's, a Tele control layout and an all-rosewood Tele neck?

Just riffing on some of the other posters' ideas, right off the top of my head.

Peace
