Gilmour black strat

Hey y'all, I'm doing the initial research into building a Gilmour Black Strat. Has anyone else done this? if so. what wood did you use? I'm thinking swamp ash body and maple/rosewood neck. any insight is welcome. Thanks

I haven't made a DG type strat, but if you want to research the black strat which is alder by the way head over to Gilmourish if you haven't already there's tons of stuff there.

To answer your question: Alder body with a maple neck.

Here is a link to mine - love it! Looks nice (to me at least), plays nice, sounds great ... still learning to control the electronics properly when playing with a band (have done it only one so far).
