Gecko neck

Can you get other inlays on a Gecko neck while omitting the Gecko inlay?

Nope.  Gecko or no Gecko.  That's the only inlay set up for the Gecko basses. (Remember, they're 35" scale.)

Bummer.  I love the 35 inch scale but I prefer to have normal fret markers. :sad1:

A nice clean board is not all bad. Just give me some side dots and call it a day.

Nah.  You can still have the side dots.  That should give you all the fingerboard reference you need!

You would be amazed how much you're not using the face dots. When I got my first instrument with only side dots I was also nervous, but once I actually played it I didn't even notice.

I once played on a guitar that didn't even have the side dots and it was really hard to see where I was, but that's totally irrelevant to your question.
