GAS Alert!!!!

That's a really unfair example considering Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eric Johnson, SRV, and countless other legends played Strats.  Not to mention both designs have been around far longer than both of the players you reference there.  I personally am not a fan of Explorers because I associate them with neon cheetah print 80s spandex, but I don't think they should be done away with.  Different strokes for different folks, everyone should have the guitar they want. Unless it's a Jagstang.  Just kidding.  Kind of...
But yeah, it does seem like they make an awful lot of Strats.  I mean, they probably should be the most plentifully stocked body because they are so popular, but I don't think it's really fair to have over 200 Strat and Tele bodies in stock, and less than 20 of almost everything else.  I'm always bummed when I click on the SG section.

You have a point with those players hannaugh, but when I think of Clapton, for example, I think of him playing either the SG or that lovely red Gibson. Not the post heroin Clapton playing boring music on a boring strat. And I'm in total agreement with your SG observation! To me strats lack hardness, and I love hard music-not metal as such.

I hate it when things lack hardness... ;)  I instantly think of Jimi when I see a Strat.

Is that a common problem Hannaugh, you should see a doctor buddy  :laughing7:

I agree that there have been some fantastic players who used Strats, but for me personally there's too many unmemorable ones. And they're just not bad enough guitars, not nasty enough, you know what I'm saying?

EVIL STRAT, BEGONE!

I just think teles are more interesting, and easier to build :p

Archtop bridge. Can't say I love the 1st, but I'd give a kidney for the second!
