GAS Alert!!!!

i love this thing and i don't know why haha i've never really been a fan of fiesta red, and i'm not 100% sold on either the recessed tune-o-matic OR the volume's location... but still kind of cool in a completely untraditional kind of way. especially with the tummy and forearm contours. afterall... i DO need a body to go with my superwide neck now... i'm still thinking double f-hole L5S for that though

I can see why you'd like it. There aren't a million control holes drilled in it, it has the contours, it's mahogany, and it's a LPS body. Fiesta red isn't so bad - I'd rock it. I agree the TOM isn't the best solution, but it beats a lot of bridges out there. That's a good deal on that body. I tried building one up the way I'd really want one, and it turned out to cost substantially more than $322, so I think I'd take the TOM compromise to have a LPS. Put an ebony over pau ferro neck on there with SS railroad ties, and call it a love story <grin>

Never knew that Agile was my thing
But I ordered a semi custom AS-820 12 string
The month of May seems a long time away
So until then I'm spending my time making this rhyme

... oh my ...

A few of those are listed as made in Korea.  Does anyone else know where the others are made?

As I understand it Agile are Korean-made. The SX and Douglas are from China.  :dontknow:

I have absolutely no interest in that.  :tard:
Knowing you, you might end up having wet dreams about it with bright green hardware and red pickups :icon_tongue:

As you will discover, "furniture" or "coffee table" bodies have a strong following on this board.  Over time, you may find yourself hating them less.
I discovered that the first day I joined! I dunno, I just never feel for the Spalty bodies. Quilts and flames and exotic woods I can usually feel for... just... not Spalty stuff.

You guys need to stop joking like that. because generally when you say things like that. its TRUE. and I totally would.  :icon_biggrin: that thing would ROCK with green hardware and red Pups!

Don't feel bad. I'm not a huge fan of the "spalted" woods, either. To me, it's just a polite word for "rotted", and even without that connotation it's just not that attractive of a feature. Not that there aren't some interesting cuts of the stuff that are attractive, but they're few and far between in my view. I find the curly/quilted and symmetrical grains much more interesting and attractive. If I want rotten vegetation, I can always check the crisper drawer in the fridge <grin>

A few spalted tops have tripped my trigger, but yeah most of them just look like rotten wood.

He knew that when he said it R6.

I knew that.

most anyone who looks at it, can tell that Spalt is rot.

when we see rot. many of us don't like it. be it an issue of Aesthetics or concerns of durability.
