guys...sycamore IS maple! but only from my end of the globe, not yours...

(unless warmoth uses the name sycamore for plane/platanus, or the ficus sycomorus, which is a figtree).
so depending on which sycamore it actually is, it might take stains very, very well. I know that zebrano takes stains great, ash as well, and the 'maple'sycamore takes stains very nice too. that works just like maple.
by the way, gibson uses this kind of maple, not the 'real' hard maple, cause its cheaper than hard maple. just a tiny, little fact many people don't know
