GAS Alert!!!!

HA!  Bagman, I've seen them, gassed over them, and had to walk away.  I couldn't walk away from the PF body, however.  Just couldn't do it.

Been there, done that, got the parts in storage.

Sometimes a part in the showcase is just incredible, like it's CGI-generated or something, and you have to have it because it seems highly unlikely lightning is gonna strike like that again. Then a flamed Koa neck shows up that shouldn't be able to exist and you wonder if the bank will crank your credit line just a little bit more...

Yassir, that's the PF body.  Right now I'm punishing it.  It's got to stay in it's box in a corner and think about being a guitar.  When I think it's good and ready... and I have the cash to finish it all off, then it gets to realize it's dreams.  (I think I heard something similar said on this forum.  I liked it so much, I'm stealing it.)

Hehe! Yeah, well, it's not like these things have "best if used by" date on them, like some kinda fresh-baked bread. Even 20 years from now, it'll still be the prettiest thing on the block.

Unless, of course, it gets fat.

Hmmm... maybe now is the time to do all your drilling and screwing...

while not off the charts like some recent pieces... this one has me trying to decide how it'd look with white and tortoise, and if I really want a 7.25" radius 1 -5/8" nut or not.

It's not a good idea exploring the Screaming Deals section is it? Found a super nice Swamp Ash Burgundy Mist Strat body, and I just priced a build then and it would be around $1200 AUD before shipping...Gah.

Only gripe is that the $190 finished neck that I found is Boatneck...and I'm not sure how much I like thick necks yet. Definitely want a maple neck though :icon_thumright:

The showcase is an evil and utterly alluring place....good thing I only “need” about a dozen more guitars.

After years of study, I have concluded that the number of guitars a person needs can be found using the simple formula “X + 1” where “X” equals the number of guitars currently posessed by said person...

Oh, my! It's perfect! Just the right width & profile, modern construction, no inlays, gorgeous figured Ziricote over Pau Ferro so you know it's going to burnish up like waxed glass... what's not to love? And you know they're never, ever going to make anything like that ever again, so you have to buy it or be left to live your life bereft of the happiness you so richly deserve.

Sigh.
