I broke a bass string on my fretless P-bass when I was 16, at a jazz competition.  I know I play fairly hard (and played harder then, with big action), but I'm convinced that this string was shoddy.  It unwound near the ball.  I un-strung it, tied a knot in the end of that sum-bish, and tuned it back up to pitch.  Of course, I finished the chart with 3 strings before I did that, and passed my next chart (Send in the Clowns) to the bari sax player and told him to add three sharps and read it as treble clef.  I came in before the big build up, and we were complimented for our arrangement~  The judges never knew I broke a string.

Guitar strings, I've broke a few in practice, but never at show, and not in 10 years.  I play (and bend) pretty darned hard, too.  Change your strings often, and make sure there aren't burrs at friction points if you're breaking strings.  Rocking: ur doin it rong.

Yeah, I'm actually a little pissed that it's so awesome.  I have less than no reason to buy that neck except 1) it's amazing and 2) it's effing cheap!  I should be concentrating on building this Bass VI, the Deluxe 5 and my 12 string Tele.  Darn you, Warmoth!  Darn you to heck!

That neck and both of those bodies look great, but not together.  This is a classic example of why women say men can't dress themselves.  Try not to mix patterns, especially when they are the same color.
 
You're right, of course. A solid white or butterscotch would probably look good.

I agree, too much going on....
 
Yeah, I think that neck would look nice on a dark mahogany, wenge, or rosewood, or something with a more even grain, or on a flat finish.  But it would be way too much if you put it with something the same color and texture. 
 
It would have looked great with my gold top strat but, sadly, "this item doesn't exist or it has been sold."  I hope it shows up on the site as a build in progress...
 
I dont see the body available anymore either.  I'm not a big flame maple fan, but I was trying to collect funds to buy it.  Oh well......
