GAS Alert!!!!

I was window shopping in the showcases, and came up with these pieces that I think would be tasty: nice flamey maple with pau ferro on goncalo alves neck.

This would be a helluva lot of fun - but my position is this:  If you show up with a telecaster THIS flashy, you better have your shiznit in a waterproof bag (as my old drill sergeant used to put it).

This company makes it really hard to say "I'm not buying anymore necks or bodies"

I don't have a strat that would look good with that, but I keep thinking....."What does that matter?"

Thats for sure. It's been a couple years since I owned a production guitar, and I was thinking "Man, with this summer job maybe I'll save up for a nice PRS." Then I started thinking "Well, of course with Warmoth I could get stainless steel frets, and a hollowbody VIP..."

Damn it, Warmoth. Damn it.

Ya except I'm building a track car, and trying to buy a house. Yet I can't seem to stop buying guitar parts.........

Almost tempting.

I think we might have similar taste. This is what's in my lap as I surf/type this.  :laughing7:

Those are on there all the time, usually several variations, all usually set neck tele's....I've contemplated one myself.... :laughing7:

That looks like a real beauty Craig. I'll bet it's a great player too. I have a Warmoth 72 thinline with a goncalo on goncalo neck, and I love it (pic below). I'd love to build a superstrat with a g/a neck.

Dunno. It's already only 3lbs., 4oz. That's pretty light.

Not a fan of the f-hole, though. They're the electric guitar equivalent of automobile tail fins.

I love f-holes, but I can understand the hate for them. They are a little gaudy. I'd say they're probably not necessary on a chambered guitar, but on a hollow guitar I would think it would change the sound of the instrument to have one. I wonder... Would be an interesting comparison. More interesting than the maple vs rosewood threads that seem to pop up on every guitar forum out there.

yea, Im not crazy about them but I wouldn't turn down a guitar I liked because it had em. I think their PRIMARY purpose is to let everybody know "Hey! This guitar is HOLLOW!" Kinda like how, if I ever get another fretless bass I want an unlined fingerboard, because I don't want people thinking it has frets if I have to work to get my intonation on spot. (Althought I might consider black lines on ebony)
