GAS Alert!!!!

It does look bound, but the catalog sheet doesn't say anything about it. It does say it's chambered, and it still weighs 5lb., 15oz.

It may have been difficult to get that smooth finish on it without binding. I suspect that's one of those that look better in real life than in pictures.

just like what i ordered from Ben Crowe.

What combination of neck and fingerboard woods do you think would look good with that?  I'd like to see a birdseye maple Warmoth on that for the contrast but maybe that would be too bright sounding...

I'd keep the whole guitar dark and go with a wenge or rosewood neck. Something like a les paul custom Black Beauty.

Man, if I knew a way to keep that Padouk from turning red to brown, I would really consider that girl...
That is a real looker :glasses9:

It is finished, so I doubt there would be any color change on the padouk. I may be wrong though.

I find that's often the case with photos of wenge, since it's so dark - it appears to be difficult to light it so that the partridge figuring really pops AND so the object made out of the wood also looks good.

Talking about semi hollow...

I am trying to resist this Non W Guitar...;

Yamaha axes are a tremendous value - like Ibanez's line, they're well built, and outside the real high-end guitars, they can be procured used for a fraction of the new price, which is also often quite reasonable.  If you are contemplating an eventual resale, of course, that's bad news - but you'll find the guitars are solidly constructed.  As for that particular guitar, the f-holes do nothing for me, and I'm also not a fan of the matte finish. But if it works for YOU, that's all that matters, ultimately.

Actually the guitar is not matte .. dunno why in the photo it is.
Yeah, I dont really care about the F holes too.

All I want is an affordable es 335 clone. and reviews on this one quite good.

Another nice jazz guitar is the Agile AS-1000...

as1000blackflamebigsby5.jpg

Ebony over maple neck, curly maple top/sides/back body, alnico pickups, Grover 18:1 pegs, Bigsby tailpiece, TOM bridge, jumbo frets, graphite nut, binding everywhere. $495 in the box, out the door.

I agree, but I know a lot of people here like dysfunctional vibratos, so I picked one that had one <grin>

You had me right up until you said "Bigsby."

They certainly make them without the miserable things, and for less money. As I mentioned earlier, there seems to be a lot of love on this board for dysfunctional vibratos, so I was just feeding into it. Gotta give the people what they want, yes? <grin>
