Where do I got that, without that silly price and also a 250k?

I should mention that I have ordered from them before, a set of Fralin pickups. No problems, quick shipping.

Oops, even cheaper from StewMac. I assumed you had already looked there, so I didn't bother checking them first!

Shoot. 4 successive posts. I missed the 250k part. I would just get the 500k one and put a 500k resistor in parallel. Yes, it will change the taper of the pot, put most pot tapers suck anyway. Alternatively, you can experiment with placing a small cap (I'd guess starting with a few hundred pF) across a 500k pot to get the same "warming" effect of the lower pot value.

I'm done. No more posts from me until someone else posts!

500/250k long shafts are $12 ea from Warmoth: http://www.warmoth.com/hardware/parts/parts.cfm?fuseaction=include_potentiometers

Long shaft push/pull.

Longshaft 500k. What would be the difference for a tone control between 500 and 250K ?

basically it's less load on the pickup.  It will be louder and easier to overdrive your amp.  I've found that the lower mids are a bit louder, but that could be just my imagination.

FWIW, is anyone aware of anyone that sells 500K long shaft push/pulls with a linear taper?
For the life of me, i cant find anything.

That would actually be better for me then.

The only problem is that the place, http://www.beyondeleven.com/default.asp , has a $50 handling fee.  :(  I'll see about the stew mac one

Its actually a variable active gain boost, it unfortunately can't take the place of a tone pot.  When the switch is off...its bypassed.  It also changes your signal to a 2k low impedance signal.
