FNP-45 or P250?

Finally gonna break down and go for a high capacity .45, which means ( gasp, sigh ) a tupperware frame.

Choices -
The full size FNP-45, by FN-USA, the big boys of gun making.  Its a full size double/single action pistol, sort of a cross between a few existing models.  Its a lot like a P220, except with tupperware frame and high capacity.

Other choice was the Sig P250 in .45 auto.  Also full size but can be "converted" down to compact and micro size.  Can even change calibers if you want to, but I dont want to.  Catch there is that the P250 is double action only... with a long long 6-8lb trigger pull.

Anyway, that's the consideration.  I dont really like Glock.  I'm not too fond of the S&W offering.  Nor the Kahr, or really the H&K offering either - its nice, but VERY dear in price.  I know parts are easy to get for Sig... they're really good about it.  After that... FN quality is also legendary, but then again Sig has the "to hell and back" reliability thing too.  My P220 is proof of that!

So... thoughts?

screw high capacity, theres nothing cooler than a 1911!

i have no useful advice for gun buying :icon_biggrin: sorry. i do really like the 1911 though.

Try this. It's good for... protecting your Empire, if you know what I mean.

Oohhh I dunno, I hear there's a massive design flaw. Something to do with an exhaust port.

Yeah - any sloppy apprentice with a x-wing and a vacuum cleaner-droid can hit that.

It's only 2 meters though.  Then again, I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters.

I have never fired one of the pistols you asked about. I have a Springfield XD 45 Tactical. 13+1 cap. So far I have had no issues at all with over 900 rounds.

I dunno... I was damn near sold on the FN... but Sig... makes a strong case.  I just cant cozy up to DA only.  Then again, its not a target gun, and I've got 1911's and Browning HiPower's for that sort of thing.

Desert Eagle ... too large.  Also, you get "Desert Eagle Bite" from them, I've got it, twice, in the same place!  Owwwww!
Kimber is nice too, but in 1911's, like with guitars, I prefer to build my own.  Particularly, I dont like the trigger (easily changed) or the "whale tail" on any of the Kimber's.  For that matter, I dont like the whale tail on any 1911.... they get in the way.  Nobody has tried completely removing the offending parts to eliminate bite.... works well! (but some of mine have the staandard GI type grip safety instead of whale tail).

Still thinkin....

I'd go for a Glock myself, but I'd also really like to pick up an H&K Mk23.... yes its expensive as hell (shit, my M4 costs as much) but its quality, durability, and accuracy is worth it!

My $.02

why would you need a high capacity handgun? wouldn't a rifle be more accurate?

Rifles are great for reaching out and touching someone (just like Ma'Bell!).  But they cant be carried concealed.  Current threats being what they are, I'd rather have more than less.

Ouch! Everybody saw the movie of the girl getting a bite in her forehead, I believe...
But I got "hummm thanks, but not" when I saw a movie FROM the company of D.E. with a professional gun man having some really back move with it... Believe is not for people not used to USE guns (me)... but from what I remember you telling us of all jobs you have done, I'm assuming you really know how to use one...
