I'm super thrilled with my new warmoth. I've always been a Les Paul guy but I wanted something to do that 70's funk and disco single coil tone. I also wanted an unfinished neck, a short scale, and noiseless pickups. I ended up with a 7/8s body, mustang neck, and kinman "the scoop" pickups. Sounds great, although I might need to touch up the shielding job in a few places because I've been getting some buzz from positions 2 and 4. Plays like a dream even with the stock nut cut. I'll get that re cut and the frets dressed in the next few weeks.

That's really sharp! Good job!

You may want to check your middle pickup polarity if you're getting noise in positions 2 & 4.

Welcome, and the guitar looks very nice. Some good choices of hardware and neck finish...

You should not be getting any noise at all with those Kinmans, so something is out.

Thanks guys!

I think what I'm getting is buzz, not ground hum. I believe noise canceling pickups won't cancel that out, only the hum. As far as polarity goes, how would that affect my noise canceling? I don't think Kinman uses a RW/RP middle. Also, positions 2 and 4 don't sound out of phase at all.

Perhaps send Kinman a mail or open a support ticket they are likely to help you out.

My Kinmans don't buzz or hum.
