My first build... it's a Mahogany 2-pc body, Mahogany pro neck with Rosewood fretboard.  Finish is hand rubbed oil/varnish (Minwax Tung Oil Finish).  Finish on neck is 3 coats with 0000 steel wool between coats.  The body has 4 coats.  I goofed and applied the 3rd coat a bit heavy in spots, so I lightly sanded with 220 and the 4th coat made it nice again.  I'll let it cure and apply paste wax with 0000.

Nice!

You might want to look into scotchbrite pads instead of steel wool for the next one.
Light grey is the same grit as 0000 and white is slightly finer.

I'll check in to the scotch brite pads.  I actually used synthetic steel wool, which doesn't leave residue.

This looks awesome, looking forward to the rest of the build.

just wondering what kind of pickups you plan on using?

this looks like it will be very tonefull, I would like to suggest some Bare Knuckle Riff Raff humbuckers or their Mule set for a serious bluesy/classic rock tone that would defiantly do this axe justice.

or maybe some Skatterbrane Earthbrane humbuckers another great classic rock set.

both companies have some great looking cover options for thier humbuckers in case you want that serious vintage vibe, Bare Knuckle also has some great Heavy Metal pickups that look great in Classic style guitars if thats your style.

More pics please..... :)

I love how orange the finish looks especially the headstock, very cool my friend!  :rock-on:  :hello2:
