Finished the BUILD!!!

What do you call 100 Les Paul haters at the bottom of the ocean?  :icon_biggrin:

...granted, you may have to play several to find one that you love, but Gibson does manage to produce some beauties from time to time. I've owned several for years, and they're treasures.
Sau-siche his own!! Vive La etc, etc., etc.

So basically, Doghouseman, what you're telling us is the following joke:

Q:  What do you get if you take a Tele, give it all the contours, a 24 3/4 neck, humbuckers, and a non-trem bridge?

A:  What a Les Paul is supposed to be, but better with comfort and playability at a fraction of the price and weight.

Am I right?  (I certainly like what you did!)

More like, what Leo Fender would have built if he had been trying build a Les Paul.

Tsk-tsk! T'is a shame how the 'boards have gone down-hill; I stop in to see what's goin' on to find site administrators threatening the members with physical violence!  :laughing7:

It's not a slap, it's a "high 5" to the face!

Agree. Gibson has twice the history of Fender and they created iconic guitars. They have produced so many guitars if you want to find a good one you will definitely find no matter if it's a '57 an '82 or a '11.

Off topic but...I'm not that big a LP hater - I love how they sound and look, I just don't like how they feel.  Too frumpy.  I'd love an LP with nice curves.  I have a LP Junior knock-off that I stripped and sanded deep contours into the body, I just haven't finished it yet.  Been waiting on....being broke.  It will happen someday, and be the Gibson that forever should have been, and yet never was.  I've always loved Nighthawks for some reason....they just seem from some sort of twilight zone between Fender and Gibson...like Dale Cooper and Bob go into the Lodge, and out comes the Nighthawk...

You'd probably like the LP Smartwoods they made some years ago, they were quite thinner than normal LP's...
