I haven't been really into the WWE for years, but I screamed like a schoolgirl tonight when The Rock was introduced as the host for Wrestlemania. He did an almost 20 minute promo and still sounds as good as always. My wife had just fallen asleep when his music hit, which made her jump right back up. We both marked out like little kids.

I'm sure most of you probably won't care about this, but I can't be the only wrestling fan here.

I'm going to show my age here but I stopped watching wrestling when the likes of Gorilla Monsoon, Haystacks Calhoun, Bruno Sammartino and Stan "The Man" Stasiack were in the ring. I need a nap now...

I spent a lot of my youth in Alexandria La. they had a small coliseum there and on Wednesday night we had wrestling there at a discount ticket, it was about 3/4 of a mile from my house and we were there every Wednesday. It was great but the best thing was we actually got to see the practice fights that everyone else saw that weekend at the big arenas and paid full price, not all of them but we saw at least one every week. Oh yea those guys are serious about their show they put on. We also got to meet a lot of the guys as they were very fan friendly there. Andre the Giant, Sargent Slaughter, Jake ,  Stone cold, Ric Flair,Randy Savage,Rowdy Piperand the group would shake hands, sign autographs and take the little kids and pick them up and stuff. I really miss those days as I think the show was the greatest and the Smack was the best.

I used to LOVE the WWF when I was in elementary school. Thought it was the greatest thing ever, and I would have jumped off a bridge if Stone Cold said I should. Loved him. Plus, even if I hadn't liked wrestling at the time, they made some of the all-time best games my N64 ever saw! I found a couple old WWF N64 games at a local video game store and took them to my friend's house where we made our own terrible custom characters and had a nostalgic Royal Rumble. (Jazzy Jay vs Pantless Steve. Jazzy Jay won, naturally).

BUT now wrestling is just the world's worst soap opera, and there are some pretty damn bad soap operas out there.
