Was waiting on either the tax return to arrive or my Explorer to sell, and Uncle Sam came in first.  :glasses10:

Standard VIP solid mahogany body
DL quilt maple top
H X H pickup routing
Recessed Wilkinson tremolo routing,
Strat 5 way switch (3 way will be installed), 1 volume and 1 tone control,
White top binding
Red dye top finish
Black gloss back finish

Can't wait until it gets here.  :blob7:

Sounds pretty sweet.  If were to proffer any aesthetic advice, it would be to go to cream binding instead of white, since red is a pretty stark contrast with the white edge - otherwise, it sounds like the bee's knees.

I see what you mean. I saw a VIP with fireburst finish and cream binding and it looked pretty sweet.

Edit - I sent an email to Warmoth and changed the binding to cream, lol.

Now if only those damn ebay auctions would sell I could order my pickups.  :toothy12:

Holy crap - I posted something on the internet, and got someone to change his mind as a result!  I'd better note the date and time....

What are you selling on eBay?

Trying to unload the Warmoth explorer I had built to cover some of the cost of the new guitar. Not having much luck, I think the fact that not having a well known brand name on the guitar makes people a bit more reluctant. I'm also selling a Peavey Triple xxx 40/efx combo amp and a 1997 Ludwig Supraphonic snare drum, 5x14. I have a Mesa Boogie Stiletto straight cab now so I don't need the combo. Just need a 5150 head and I'll be set.  :glasses10:

body sounds nice
and pics make us all  :blob7: :blob7: :blob7: :cool01: :cool01: :cool01:

Glad I didn't bother paying attention to the thread until now. Like a bunch of hens clucking in there.  :laughing11:

By hens you mean people that are aware of reality, a reality you delude yourself into ignoring because golly gee you want a 'nuther guitar? :evil4:

You guys sure seem to care a lot more about it than I do.

Warmoth Marketed it.

thus why you bought it.

you're not marketing anything.

you are failing to sell a used guitar because you ask for more then the market will allow, More than its worth.

Wording of an auction has more to do with making things clear to the consumer and you never know something's value until you set a price and see how the consumer reacts. If nobody bites then you lower it, which is what I did. I would imagine that if someone listed a guitar and mentioned in it that they built it themselves, the average person is going to think it is not as good as what they could buy off the shelf and they are putting their faith into another person's hands more so than if a professional was involved with the entire process. Even if it is BS to those in the know it doesn't mean it won't catch someone's attention.

Anyway, enough with the stupid auction, wasn't the brightest idea to post it here anyway, I admit that, but that can't be changed and I wasn't trying to entice a guitar builder to buy it in the first place.  If I don't sell the guitar I'll keep it and play it, and I'm still getting another one, hence the thread, so either way I am not in a bad position.  :)
