Felt like Willem Dafoe this weekend

Took a break from Duke Nukem and the Deus Ex beta to do something less violent more fun.

Every year this time of year there's a local rancher who holds a big scenario paintball game on his ranch.  I had some friends who went last year and I managed to go with them this year.  Beautiful place, lots of action.  Great bunch of guys to play with and new friends made forever type of weekend.  Complete with all the homosexual innuendo, abundance of methane gas, and altogether too much cussing that is involved with a weekend camping with a bunch of guys.  (about 80 came to the event)

I was wearing a head cam for some of it and here is a bit of footage that shows off the place.

Here is a beautiful shot of "Hamburger Hill" at the Skyline Nation paintball scenario. This was part of our Apocalypse Now mission, searching through the "jungle" for the defector general.
It took us awhile to run into somebody, we were probably stalking through the woods like this for 30 minutes or so, but even with the lack of action we got to enjoy the countryside. Welcome to Alberta folks.

As for Duke.  It's trash.  I'm glad I pirated it first to check it out because i'm deleting it and wont be buying it.

DN3d had its fare share of T&A jokes and campy bad taste, but DNF is.. just over the top.  To the point where I can't play it ALONE without feeling awkward.
Even without the hype of the last 12 years aside and the ensuing disappointment.  It's just a POS.

I agree, I had a play at a friends house and wasn't impressed at all. The Duke series had a fair bit of shock value when it first came out, but now every other FPS contains that type of content, and they are all doing it better.

Man that sux, I read some reviews that it was shytty...But you know how reviews are like assholes, everybody's got one.. DN A Time to Kill was bad ass, was hoping DNF was going to be just as kick ass.. Maybe I'll just rent it, and wait for FEAR 3... :dontknow:
