With Warmoth, there are no fantasies... only pending realities.

This man is as wise as the Dalai Lama.

Wiser.  :icon_biggrin:

Anyway, here are my upcoming builds, some of which may never actually happen:

1. My own Pearly Gates:
Flame maple/1-pc solid mahogany LP with cream binding, in honey burst
Wenge/ebony neck w/ Warmoth headstock, trapezoids, and cream binding
SH-11 Custom Custom + SH-PG1 Pearly Gates in nickel
Standard LP controls, TOM/stop chrome, cream pickguard
Some sort of locking tuners in chrome

2. Schwing bass:
Hard ash G4 body in graffiti yellow
Bubinga(?)/ebony neck w/ Warmoth headstock and cream dots
LQ Badass II in black
Nordstrand MM pickup
Audere 3ZB preamp: Vol/bass/mid/treble, active/passive switch (if possible, on volume push/pull)
All black hardware, knobs in MusicMan location
Some sort of light tuners (Schaller?)

3. Thinelectro:
Swamp ash Thinline, top rout, black, double bound in white.
Two lipstick tubes (GFS makes a Tele bridge one) in chrome
Piezo Tele bridge (with blend control?)
Cream pickguard
Concentric cream/black controls a la Danelectro

4. LP Special clone, hold the pickguard

I've been saying for ages that I want to do a thinline tele with double P90's, but I've been thinking more and more about g4 or g5/Gecko bass
Any more specifics on finish and all?

Oh, and NonsenseTele, I was rethinking about your comment, and the Crushed metal finish on an SG with creme P-90's with a creme pickguard would look awesome. Or the same with the sunburst. (I've actually thought about a SG for my next build if I do one, with P-90's, to tell the truth. The trans red ones that pop up in the showcase get my interest, but they're normally routed for HB's). I was just thinking about a completely different build here.  :icon_thumright:

It would probably end extremely similar to Marko's thinline here.....

Havent really thought too hard about the bass yet.  I just want it to be better than my mate's Warwick

Nice idea Ma!!! What I tryed to say is: these guys known as "legend" now, tried to sound and look as themselves instad of copy each other... I understand you, I would like to have a Dime sig, ZW sig, and go on... but have to try to find "me"  :)

Jim, I won't put the blame on you, this guitar is freaking delicious!!!!

Fixed?

If you were talking to me, yeah, I agree. They didn't copy anybody. This is just me thinking of a guitar that would look and sound cool.
Oh, here's a fun site for Who fans: http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/
And while I'm on the topic of the Who...

Here we go: When I first started obsessing over Warmoth, my idea was to do a swamp ash Tele Custom, the one with a Humbucker in the neck, but a traditional Tele pickup in the bridge.  Turns out I built a Strat.  Then a Tele that is a Tele in body and headstock shape only.  So, yeah, I still want to do the Tele Custom, although knowing what I know now I want to do the body with Black Korina with a Ziricote Lam Top, all Pau Ferro neck.  I would also like to do a Tele's Tele.  Just a straight up, purist approved, Ash bodied, Maple necked, Fralin vintage equipped TELE.  Though I would probably forgo the Butterscotch, black guard look for a vintagey sunburst, just so it would be mine and mine alone.  Then there is the super Strat idea, which boggles even my mind.  What I mean is that even though I trash talk tremolo's at every chance I get, and have never owned a trem-equipped guitar, and I certainly don't play anything "shred" like, something is compelling me to build a dual hum, mahogany Strat with a contoured heel, and yes, a Hipshot Trem.   Well, that's about it for right now, and these are all going to remain fantasies for a while, as I have spent way too much on guitar stuff recently, and the kids do still need to go to college one day.

You get them good enough at guitar, and college is unnecessary!

I'll get a mix of your tele custom and standard tele for you! :P My Micawber should fit the bill!

G4
swamp ash body dyed black with white grainfill
wenge/ebony warmoth or jazz head no inlay maybe tiger ebony(can't spell real name...  macarslkahdf) fret board, with SS6100 frets.

hipshot hardware with d tuner,  and two delano ceramic mm pups, 5 way switch
1 bridge
2 outside coils
3 bridge and neck
4 inside coils
5 neck pup

every thing in series no preamp, maybe a treble and mid cut, but i don't see myself using them, I boost mids until my ears bleed.

2 pending realities at the moment:

1. Something along the lines of a '59 LP
2. Chris of Arabia's Spectra Tele (possibly with the longer tele pickguard, an f-hole, a warmoth headstock, and MOP dot inlays (maybe even a custom inlay like this one --> http://www.luthiersupply.com/nouveausets.html with the headstock altered to accommodate the Warmoth headstock shape...)

Don't know which will come first, but I think theyre both coming down the line sometime soon

Next up for me will be a Gibson style V, swamp ash body, dual hum (EMG 60/81) recessed TOM.  Warmoth headstock, Wenge/Ziricote fatback.

After that, I'll probably do "The Dev" Which is either going to be a mahogany SG with Dual 81's, or a mahogany Musiclander...  Haven't decided yet.

And at some point, I'd like to do a baritone.

Max, what is the finish on that first strat in your original post?  It looks like black but has a bit of crushed metal look to it.  That is nice.

I think I found it in the show case.  Crushed steel, right?  I wonder if Warmoth will paint a body that way on request..

"P90's in a SG isn't original! But I do love how they sound!"

Isn't orginal? You ever heard of an SG Special? No, wait, you're like 13? EVERYTHING was "before your time"...  Townsend's run the gamut Fenders -> SG Specials -> LPs -> back to Strats now; but the iconic view of him is in the white jumpsuit with a cherry SG Special....

What the hell is the extra knob for behind the trem????? ??? :icon_scratch:
