Expanding on a guitar build idea...

I had an idea of translating 'airplane' to 'guitar' a little while back. Many thanks for everyone's input.

Recently a pic of chambered bodies posted by Warmoth got me thinking about a wenge carved top hollow body 'Z' with chambered top. Yes sir, chambered top, holes/vents in the carved top, hollow body 'z' body design.

What kinds of problems might one encounter with an open-faced top on a hollow body? Feedback is an issue that comes to mind. The acoustic projection of sound might also be greatly diminished.

Would the holes in the top make the wood too fragile and easily crushed?

If the top wood is hard enough it may work , there are several luthiers who have done it
