Evertune doesn't fit!

This is so annoying, Warmoth didn't rout the strat correctly for the evertune bridge! How comes?  :sad1:

What should I do, pay a buttload of money for shipment and stuff and get a replacement (this was a showcase item, so I don't know if I can get a new one?) or try to drill the holes bigger? That might be faulty to, making the bridge slightly off center. But as it now, I can't even get the bridge to be fitted properly so it's useless!

without seeing the other side ( I am assuming it is in the slot) you may just be dealing with a build up of finish in the holes.

Find out the diameter of the studs on the bridge and chase both slots to the correct diameter.

I could be wrong though...I have never worked with one of those bridges.

Got a good reply, and it will be an easy fix  :icon_biggrin: apparently there's a little tab on one side that needs some more wood to be removed to make it align properly. There's never enough wood removed for an Evertune!  :laughing11:

Too bad I have to go away for a day now and play a gig... I don't wanna do that, I wanna build my Warmoth guitar  :toothy12:

Will this help  :icon_biggrin:

Even more problems with the body!  :-\

Pic1: Not only had I to remove paint build but also wood from the spring holder. (note that I DO NOT blame Warmoth for the finsih cracks, but that the routing was wrong)
Pic2: Also the holes for the back cover are completely wrong! And it's not like a regular Warmoth order where you drill the back cover holes yourself, these are done at order... :icon_scratch:

It's like they have the Evertune rout scaled down a bit... But now the bridge fits after tweaking the side of the rout with a file. So the top four holes are not incorrect, which makes this really weird...

I'm really wondering if Evertune didn't change their specs without mentioning it. It's hard to figure how else they could bone this one.... :icon_scratch: I mean, they do have one there, right? Right?

...right?

I mean, I just sent them a Hipshot "contour" whammy to sink the posts on, and I would certainly hope they pulled enough measurements to not have to do that again. It surprised me they didn't have it already. Is Evertune blurbing about NEW IMPROVED CLEANER FLOORS BETTER SEX! on their website, maybe?

Haha. No, as far as I know there's only one Evertune size.
Well, there's three different designs, F/T/G, it's like "Fender", Tele and Gibson
https://www.evertune.com/store/

And the one I bought didn't have a specific rout, but it's obvious it was the F model.

Is that a Warmoth trem cover or one that comes with the Evertune  ?  :dontknow:

Anyway, you could call it 'The Butcher'  :icon_jokercolor:
..................  That's a joke son.  :icon_thumright:

Hope you get it sorted with the big W.

I took a look at the Evertune site the other day after seeing this thread out of interest, there are also a lot of installation and routing videos on there but the routing on Cedericks somehow from the pictures doesn't look the same.

It's the one that comes with the Evertune, so it SHOULD fit, but doesn't.

Which one, I wanna have a look.
As said, there's three different designs; F as in "Fender" (I think), T as in Tele and G as in Gibson, with "tailpiece" posts.
It's defenitely NOT the Gibson styled bridge.
And I don't see why it would be the Tele style either...  :icon_scratch:
Hmmm, I'm no expert but I THINK all Evertunes are the same on the back

Here is a quick start set of set up guide for when it is installed.

http://www.evertune.com/setupFAQ/

And on this page you can find instructional or demo videos of routing and installation. On one of them the guy drills a T hole for the backplate where it isn't needed by mistake if I remember correctly.

Any way interesting to watch and with those and the PDF templates etc, it should help to figure out what isn't quite matching up.

The small cuts for the metal holder on the back were too small so it couldn't fit, I had to remove wood by hand.
And the small cutaway on the top rout was nearly nonexistent, that's why I couldn't get the bridge into place because the little tab couldn't get in place (which I wonder why it's there anyway? It's not like the 4 screws wouldn't be enough for stability...)

Seems like I will get a little discount for the trouble, that's nice.  :)
I hope this is a one-off mistake by Warmoth that hasn't occured on any parts before or after this one, because I have more plans for other Evertune guitars so I will wait until I have seen another Warmoth guitar with this bridge and see if it just fits for them or if similar fixing has been needed.

I can't say I have ever seen a Warmoth product with the Evertune rout before, so I would assume it was a one-off, someone sent the bridge in thing.

Or maybe, someone provided Warmoth with what they thought was the routing for the Evertune bridge and just said "Rout a body with these specs" and when they got it, the Evertune didn't fit. Rather than deal with it they just sent it back to Warmoth.

This is all just speculation, but I am with the other guys in saying that I can't imagine Warmoth had an actual Evertune on hand and cooked up that routing scheme that is obviously just not right.
