Esquire single bridge pickup options

For a future project I want to build a single bridge pickup Esquire but I am not sure what Tele bridge pickup is the best choice for this. Anyone have any suggestions? I would like it to be a vintage correct pickup. I have always used Fender Custom Shop pickups so any suggests for a Fender pickup or a Seymore Duncan whcih I was looking at here https://www.seymourduncan.com/pickups/guitars/telecaster?__uuid_ref=5ba3e163276b3

I liked the Bob Mare 3 Way StangRay, it's got 3 outputs, taps I'd imagine, and I could select each from using the selector switch. I liked the lowest taped, quietest, sweetest setting best.  :cool01:

Oh, they only make the 2 way StangRay these days. But they still make some interesting pickups.

If I were to build another Esquire, I'd probably go for a local(ish) pickup builder, and get them to underwind a trad build with Alnico 5 magnets.

In fact, I'd probably go for these alt 88 Treble ones; https://www.creamery-pickups.co.uk/custom-handwound-pickups-from-the-creamery/custom-handwound-telecaster-replacement-pickups.html

Which is best for you? Dunno.  :evil4:

I don't know about vintage correct but I can tell you these two sound very 1950's telecastery to me and are affordable:

DiMarzio Area T bridge
Bill Lawrence L-290TL or L-200TL

As to the Seymour or Fenders, I like the sound of the DiMarzio's or BL's better.  YMMV.

I used the Bill Lawrence, L-202TN neck and L-298TL bridge pups in my Tele. Both noise free, and stunning tone. Cant say they'd be vintage correct, but If the the L-290TL or L-200TL are anything like the ones I used, you'll be very happy.

Pickups have a huge influence on the sound of a guitar, far greater than any other variable. At the same time, their cost is low in the grand scheme of things, even for pricier parts. So, experimentation is often a worthwhile endeavor.

Well after lots of research and talking to David Jones from http://www.jonesyblues.com on the phone after listening to his demo videos I went with a 1950B with the Esquire wiring set which inludes

CLR 3 Way Switch
2 250K pots
.05uf cap
brownie .05 paper in oil reproduction Tone cap
vintage cloth wire
output jack
