Earthquake

Well, you guys know the drill by now, this is the third earthquake that I'm posting about on this forum. :sad:

There was a 6.9 magnatude earthquake in Mexico. How many of you guys felt it?

I'm 40 miles south of Los Angeles, CA.
I was sitting in bed listening to music and browsing the internet, when I felt the bed start to shake pretty hard.
I have an electric bed that vibrates, so I was sitting there for about 5 seconds trying to figure out what the bed was doing and why it was doing it on it's own like that, when I finally figured out that it wasn't the bed. It was an earthquake.
I went upstairs, and all of the lighting suspended from the ceiling was still shaking a bit.

This earthquake lasted quite a long time actually, compared with the past few quakes I've felt. It felt like several seconds.

Anyone here feel it?

For sleeping.

I just moved two months ago, and the couple that lived here just left us all their furniture, which included a king sized electric bed.
I know damn well why people buy electric beds, but I just use it for sleeping, and occasionally the reclining feature to sit up and read. :blob7:

Wow, I did not realize what it was until I read this post...
I live in Phoenix and have a pot rack that is mounted to the ceiling and all my pots and pans hang from it.
At ~3:30, all my pots and pans started clanking against each other.  This had never happened before.
I first thought what in the heck are my upstairs neighbors doing, but I had not heard a peep out of them.
I just brushed it off as something wacky until I read your post.  Then I did a google for earthquakes in Phoenix.
Sure enough, at 3:40 people from all around the valley reported feeling the quake in Baja that was a reported 7.2.
Too freaky...

I felt it.  My family was all in my mom's living room when it hit (Fullerton).  It felt like the house was rolling around on ball bearings.  It wasn't as jerky and jittery as the last one, so we figured it must be a big one that was far away, and sure enough we turned on the tv to see that it was in Baja.  A friend of my husband's lives in El Centro, and we called her.  She said everyone was okay, but all their furniture was tipped over and a lot of stuff got broken.

Seems like maybe a vibrating device that could strap on your body might be a good idea?
I really don't know if I like the idea of waking up to my bed shaking. That instantly starts your day with the "Oh shit, it's the apocalypse!" feeling. :sad:

Both? That sounds like it could be problematic at times. My family relies on yelling at each other for communication, but that's not the problem I was talking about.
