Well, my first attempt at tung oil on mahog tele with rosewood lam. Cut tung with citrus solvent ( 1part tung, 4part citrus). Made ball out of cheesecloth. Went on great over rosewood but cheesecloth left fibres on mahog. Wiped off after 20 min. Hope remaining fibres come off easily. Maybe just use fingers next time but still have to wipe excess off with something

Oh that's nothing, just use a zippo to burn the extra fibres off. That's what I do with my socks every morning!

WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT BURNING FIBRES OFF OF BODY. SOCKS ARE ALRIGHT TO TRY

haha, but no, that was not supposed to happen... I always use lint free cloths, and those are usually not even lint free...

I got that once in a while but was able to wipe them off when I did the wipe down after 20 minutes.  I've never had any harden to the finish or anything like that so you should be fine.

Cheesecloth is good for some things, like making cheese, but not so much for finish application. It's much too loosely woven, even in the highest grades. What you want are "Staining Pads"

I would suggest using an old soft t-shirt. I'm sure you have one laying around your wife would love you to get rid of. Just ask her.  :laughing11:  They work great since there is nothing left of them to come off on the finish.

Key word here is OLD, as one that has been washed a lot, lots o times. Not just a old one you never wore.
I also run a vacuum over it before I cut it up to get any dust off of it

Lucky I read warning at bottom of Paul's advice, nearly burnt guitar. While oil drying, had a go at tuners. Pretty hard as tabs for screws make difficult to use straight-edge for lining-up. spent an hour trying to get it right by eye then ran straight-line along screw tabs for some reassurance.Marked sites for holes, removed tuners, drilled, tapped with waxed screw and reassembled. Went in pretty well though B-tuner looks slighty out. Just happy i didnt break any screws

I've assembled many Warmoths, and my biggest fear going into any build is getting the tuners straight, Mine have with luck all been good , but I still dread that part of every build.

As far as your B tuner being off, just remove the screw, realign, and drill down through and install screw

I have actually gone for months without the screws, and relied totally on the friction of the nut ( tuner nut) to hold the tuner in place. I think someone could design a tuner just that way. I don't think that most tuners need a whole lot to stay put.
