The problem with some signautre models is that they are specifically geared toward the player's idiosyncracies, and if you don't play and more importantly, think like the endorsing artist (and fat chance making your brain work like Steve Morse's), you'll never really realize what the instrument is intended to do. And that's assuming you actually have some mastery of the instrument, which is much more true in your case, Andreas, than in mine.
As a general rule, I steer clear of artists' signature models in part because of the price premium (I'm pretty cheap when I put my mind to it), but also because there's no artist I'm interested in emulating to so great a degree. That said, I played a Morse Y2D model maybe two years ago and was immediately able to make many useful sounds on a very fine-playing axe.
