the headstock looks like someone ate half of it
the body looks cheap
the neck looks like it was complimentary with 3 tables from ikea.
the controls are clumsy

etc etc etc. no, never a tele.

BTW, I think you are closing your eyes and ears to an opportunity somewhere down the track by saying 'never'...... I know we all have our preferences and prejudices on what is our favourite instrument, but my tastes have changed over the years & I suspect that happens to a lot of people. It may happen to you too.

I said it ofcourse a bit hyperbolical, but I really, really REALLY don't like fenderstyle guitars. strats and tele's. I've tried to like them, I have forced myself to like them, but I can't. The older I get, the more fixed I become towards my feelings regarding fender-style guitars and les pauls. I only like les pauls. nothing else. oh well... Learn and live, so they say.

ok, let me look in my chrystal ball... ah here it is:

Volgens mij zit ik onderhand op nummertje 15 en 16!

Ik ben al sinds vorig jaar aan het kniezen over wat ik nu wil. soort van opus magnus. en ik ben eruit. ik was er ruim een maand geleden al uit, maar sinds vorige week schiet het pas op. Wat heb ik nu weer in de pet? nou, ik wil eigenlijk de mooiste, meest extreme les pauls maken die warmoth mij kan bieden. ik denk dan aan planet waves autotrim locking tuners, graphtech nut, gotoh floyd rose, bourns gold potentiometers, 500k, pushpull, switchcraft switch en output jack, en natuurlijk 2 sets customwound pickupsets naar mijn specs.  allemaal mooie hardware, maat waar het in moet, moet ook mooi zijn en te gek klinken.

dus, ik koos deze houtsoorten uit:

de top word purplemist burst, en de achterkant word transparant heel donker paars. echt, HEEL donker. en ik heb 't al op een gitaar, en dat ziet er echt schitterend uit. Het lullige is dat die back slechts 1/8'' dik is. dus er komt een black korina core tussen, met tussen de back- en toplaminate een flamed maple pinstripe. van de zijkant krijgt alleen de core stain, de top en rear blijven blank. ala een LP custom dus. en natuurlijk de top en de achterkant, maar dat spreekt voor zich. de top is dus quilt maple (wat naar flame toegaat) en de back is flamed black korina.

de ander word dit:

ook hier weer, met een flamed maple pinstripe tussen de top, rear en core. deze word volledig naturel gelakt. de top is koa, de back is flamed Supreme walnut (zoals alembic dat zo mooi beschrijft!), met een core van walnut.

de halzen worden bubinga voor op de koa-topped LP, en purpleheart voor de ander.

en dan de toetsen. ja, die kan ik ook kiezen:

macassar ebben dus.

de halzen krijgen matchende kopplaten. op de quilt maple top komt een quilt maple fineer op de kop, en de koa-to krijgt een flamed koa-fineertje.

binding komt wel om de halzen, natuurlijk niet de bodies. er komt GEEN inleg op. de pickups worden eenvoudig, namelijk mijn lievelingssets, maar dan getweaked om nog wat beter te zijn.

de brughumbucker krijgt voor de mapletop LP de voglende specs: 44awg, 7,5k + 43 awg 6.5k. hex polepieces op de 43awg spoel, normale screw polepieces op de 44awg. ceramic8 in de brug (dus de normale ceramische magneet). de halsversie krijgt dezelfde spoelen, alleen dan met een alnico5 in de brug.

de koa-top LP krijgt wat anders. 43 awg,6.5k + 42 awg 5k in de brug, ceramic8, en weer dezelfde spoelen, alnico4 (geen typfout, echt alnico4). ik krijg er nog een lading alnico5, alnico8 en alnico3 bij om te proberen. kost me een tientje extra ofzo.

in ieder geval, dit word het dus. wie zich uit wil leven in photoshop, by all means
