Well, the chrome plates bring out the mids a bit, and the gold ones boost the treble. The black plates simply make your guitar scream when overdriven.

It's not finished yet.  But I was thinking about a tobacco burst.  (BTW this is off subject but do you think tobacco burst would look good with a goncalo/ziricote neck?)

Cool I just wanted some other opinions on it.  Probably just get the W plate unless I decide on some other design.  But I can't seem to find a theme to base the plate off of.  :icon_scratch:

Here are a few plates I had done recently. The "Custom Shop" is on my Warmoth Strat, Jimi was a gift for a friend, and the EVH is for the 5150 Kramer I'm putting together.

Ya, those are cool. But they can only do chrome and gold not black..One process is called photo impact printing. It's kinda like an old dot matrix printer, only instead of ink it uses tiny little punches. I've already looked into getting one..
The other is photo etching(chemical milling), where as an image is printed on special material then soaked in an electrolyte bath  then heated to create a mask or template then etched on the material with acid..

Actually, Dangerous, not sure where Mully gets his from, but I recently purchased one with a similar engraving style on a black plate.  I'll try to take a clear picture of it to show you how it turned out.  :icon_biggrin:
