I have the routes complete as well as a battery box hole. We decided to forgo the traditional rear route so I routed for the controls on the top. The controls will be mounted on Purple Heart "pickguard" that will be mounted to the top of the body with three small screws (this is in opposition to my last build :doh. We are using the Warwick controls and pre-amp. He loved the sound of the donor MIJ Warwick but not the feel.
My son decided there was not enough Purple Heart so the pick guard is a good option. You can see some shellac on the body that will need sanded before clear. There is also some small finish sanding on the edges to complete as well. We need to smooth the horns a bit. I am not sure what I hate more...sanding or wiring! :laughing11:
