Before I get out the soldering Iron could someone give this a once over? It's a 3-way H-S with stereo, dual ganged pots for master stereo volume and tone. It also has out of phase. Thanks in advance!

I don't understand what you are trying to achieve.

But I can tell you, with the phase switch (a single coil can't be "out of phase" within itself, so calling it phase switch makes more sense here) wired like this, the neck pickup is always off.

Is this more correct? I'm trying to wire it so that each pickup goes to a seperate stereo channel.
I wanted phase reverse when using the pickups together. (I can live without that)

Ok, I think I see what you wanted to do:

The bridge-PU looks about right, but the toggle, the neck-pu and the "top" volume don't make any sense.

The middle contact of the toggle should go the jack and the neck pu - just like the bridge pu - should go in the volume first and from there to the toggle. Or what was your plan here?

Also, why is there a resistor to ground at the toggle switch?

I want 250k pots for the single coil and 500k pots for the HB. The idea is to have a resistor bleeding some current and helping achieve that. Is this what you meant?

Then I would put that resistor on the volume knob.

The toggle is still wrong. Pickups or signal from individual volumes goes outside, output goes middle. And the "top of the volume" does nothing. The wire that goes to the switch belongs to the middle lug.

OK I made those changes. Just to be clear, the top of volume and tone refer to the top pot of a dual ganged pot. Essentially its own pot.

What will?

The "top volume" still does nothing when you turn it, the wiper is not connected.

And the more I think about it:
You don't really need that resistor. All it does is to take a little treble away, but you have two individual tone pots, in a stereo setup even two individual amps!

I would just toss it completely.

Notwithstanding my earlier comments in another thread regarding practicality. Here is what currently would need to be done to fix the last diagram.

• The green wire from top of volume to the toggle switch needs to be moved to the middle lug of top of volume.
• If you really want a resistor move the resistor from the toggle to the outside lug of top of volume.
• If you want out of phase that needs to be positioned after the top of volume output middle lug and before the 3 Way toggle.

Why have we got different threads for a continuation of the same topic?

The rest looks okay, but move resistor R1 to the left outside lug of the top vol pot and the other end of R1 to ground, probably on the volume log bottom. Also insulate any bare legs of the resistor to avoid it interfering accidentally with anything else.
