My "Brown Guitar"

Shellcaster

Since I joined the forum I figured I should add my guitar to the collection. Unfortunately my other 2 guitars that had Warmoth necks on them got stolen so this is all I have left. The neck is birdseye Maple with a jet black ebony fretboard with a 1 and 11/16th bone nut and 6105 nickel frets. It's the standard thin with the standard compound radius and Sperzel locking tuners. I got the neck for a like deal because it was returned because the headstock is a 1/16th of an inch thinner then standard.

The body is a Mustang/SG hybrid design hand routed from a one-piece block of solid mahogany also purchased from Warmoth. It was going to be a Strat but I went with the smaller design because it's so heavy it makes a Les Paul feel like a basswood strat. The trem is from an early 80s Yamaha guitar, their knock off version of a Floyd Rose that came from my first guitar (that was right handed and despite my best efforts I am not) I accidently broke as a kid...oops.

The pickups are Carving and from 3 different generations. The neck is a '98 N22 (noiseless), the Middle is a mid 90's C11 I think, can't remember, and the bridge is an '84 H22 (Hot) with one of the tone pots doubling as a coil tap for the bridge as well.

Took me over a year to get the parts and get it built with help from my grandfather and is the last thing I have of him as he passed away just 2 weeks before I finished it. It's my most cherished guitar and only worldly possession I care about.
