How many of you old guys remember the 2-Tek bridges from the '90's?

Well... They're back!  http://www.the2tek.com/

Warmoth will be routing for their bridges on most flat top guitars and basses.  Customers with existing Warmoth bodies will also be able to send them in to get re-routed.  (Some caveats will apply...)

We will also be stocking the bridges.

Oh GREAT. Thanks Wyliee-e-e-eee-e. Now I have to buy a new Warmoth body for my strat, a new bridge, and a finish from Tonar.  :toothy12: Time to go broke again!

Will W also be offering "big" metallic flakes like that?  :evil4:

Sorry but no.  That was a Custom Shop bass.  Beautiful finish, but horrifically thick and lumpy in spots.

Here's a Squier bass that was modified for testing purposes.

will the 2-Tek rout be available on all the Warmoth bass bodies?

thanks  :headbang:

4 string and 5 string flat top bodies.  No Geckos as it doesn't fit on the body.

This sounds interesting, these are for sixstringers as well as basses?

Might have to look into it

well farts....

I was informed by 2-Tek that only chrome finish will available for the time being.  was hoping for black!

happy easter    :)

Mmmmm ..... less 'crosstalk' hey ..... They look interesting.

:icon_scratch:  ... Wonder if this would help with an installed GK-3 pickup at all.  :dontknow:

Only one way to find out !!!

I feel another build coming on  :icon_biggrin:

I wouldn't expect much, if any, difference. But, you won't know until you collect some objective data so you'd better get something on order right away. The economy won't cure itself. You gotta do your part and spend, Spend, SPEND! Besides, you haven't put together a new guitar in days <grin>

I used the two Squier basses in the video for my personal experimentation.  As far as less cross talk goes, I say legit.  This is based on plucking one string on the original bass and feeling for vibrations on the adjacent strings.  This was compared against the bass with the 2Tek bridge.  I felt almost no vibrations on adjacent strings on the 2Tek bridge.

Granted the test size was only two basses and don't have any ultra precise instrumentation other than my own hands and ears.  Those were my direct observations.  I want to be clear that I am not trying to be a shill for the bridges.  You decide if the bridge is right for you.

Anyway ...
Found heaps of pic's of these 2-Tek bridges on different guitars.

I like the look without any ring around it.

Now to find a body for it ......

Wow. Some damn nice fiddles in that thread! You're right - it is a very clean look.

Interesting.  So which Warmoth bodies can accept the wide 5-string (.750 spacing) 2TEK bass bridge?  :)

No Geckos .... as quoted above and No carved tops.
And by the looks of this .....
http://www.warmoth.com/Hardware/bridges/2TekBridges.aspx
*Note ..... Wide spacing is ONLY available on top routed 5 string bass bodies.
For rear routed bodies, the 2TEK bridge cavity overlaps with the control cavity making this option unavailable.

But still best to check with the big W, as these are new  :icon_thumright:

There are beautiful guitars and basses on those pages.

Hi Zilmo

Yep will be using in a up-coming custom build, haven't ordered yet. But about to.  :icon_biggrin:
So it might be a while before I have one in use.

I'm sure others will have one showing up here before I do.

Cheers
