Color-matched stains and dyes . . .

Mike Lull told me once there was a place in Cali that would color-match dyes ! Is anybody aware of these services and by whom ? AND I'm aware that wood comes in different shades!

I've not heard of that, maybe you should email Mile Lull. If there is such a place, you'd probably need to physically bring in an example of what you are trying to match, as pictures/emails can varu too much for real accuracy. What specifically are you trying to match?

In the Seattle area you should try Kelly Moore.  I don’t know if Frazee is in your area but they sell Val-Spar and might be able to help you.  I know Val-Spar has a great eye match guy at the lab in Montebello Ca., but I think they only do that for large batch situations.  I think Frazee has the tint system in some of their stores.
