What are you doing with a flame maple top?  I thought that wasn't your thing.

I said it was not the most original choice for a top. But yes, I get more excited about other topwoods. :)
anyway, I got really inspired by Luke's Strat. really liked it more than I expected.  oh and this was an absolute steal in the showcase!!

padouk on korina, cause padouk will give it a bit more highs and growl and agression

rosewood on korina, cause that will make the tone super ultrafat and punchy.

padouk on ash, cause that will SCREAM!

rosewood on ash, cause that will give a very balanced tone.

So, Marko, whatever you do, you still need 2 extra guitars!  :laughing3: :laughing11:

Just kiddin'.

talking pure estheatics, I'd go with the padouk on korina, RW on ash, cause the double-brown looks too dark, the padouk brings out the red in the korina, and it breaks it a bit. especially when its a bit older. and ofcourse, the tone of the neck makes it, imho, a better match.

but I like rosewood too, just to emphasise on that!

Almost done!
need a matching electrosocket, and 6 black pickguard screws for the trem plate, and that's it!

I have to say, I have never played anything this nice before! the neck is absolutely silky smooth!
Also, I have never had a guitar that sounded so good clean! it just sings.
another big surprise... my super simple experimental wiring works just great!! I can get some really nice tones out of this!! :)

ok, here is a teaser......

oh couple of things,
the grain of the rosewood is still fairly open, but not as much as the flash makes it appear...

I named this one for a change..

"Róisín Dubh"
Which is Irish for Black Rose.
Get it? BLACK korina with a ROSEwood top and neck :)
It also refers to Ireland where I lived for almost 7 years, and it is also a reference to my favorite Thin Lizzy Song

Ok then, a couple more pics. I will make proper outside (lounging by the pool) shots when it is completely done :)

Tell me the legends of long ago
When the kings and queens would dance in the realm of the black rose
Play me the melodies i want to know
So i can teach my children, oh

Pray tell me the story of young c£ chulainn
How his eyes were dark his expression sullen
And how he'd fight and always won
And how they cried when he was fallen

Oh tell me the story of the queen of this land
And how her sons died at her own hand
And how fools obey commands
Oh tell me the legends of long ago

Where the mountains of mourne come down to the sea
Will she no come back to me
Will she no come back to me

Oh shenandoah i hear you calling
Far away you rolling river
Roll down the mountain side
On down on down go lassie go

Oh tell me the legends of long ago
When the kings and queens would dance in the realms of the black rose
Play me the melodies so i might know
So i can tell my children, oh

My roisin dubh is my one and only true love
It was a joy that joyce brought to me
While william butler waits
And oscar, he's going wilde

Ah sure, brendan where have you behan?
Looking for a girl with green eyes
My dark rosaleen is my only colleen
That georgie knows best

But van is the man
Starvation once again
Drinking whiskey in the jar-o
Synge's playboy of the western world

As shaw, sean i was born and reared there
Where the mountains of mourne come down to the sea
Is such a long, long way from tipperary

It is one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever played!  :icon_thumright:  :icon_thumright:  :icon_thumright:
