Chambered Jaguar?

Thinking of replacing the neck and body on my Jaguar, I’m wanting to replace the body primarily since it’s SO heavy. This guitar is heavy as a LP. Anyways, long story short, I’m wanting a chambered Jaguar body. Does Warmoth do that?

It doesn’t look like they do that, but it sure would be nice.
Then again, there’s some pretty light bodies with ”normal” weight in the showcase.

I got a solid Alder Jazzmaster body a couple years ago that only weighs 3lbs 11oz. They usually have to be chambered to get that light. Basswood is even lighter. So, it seems like you should be able to get a lighter Jaguar body without chambering it.

I don't know why they don't chamber Jags. There's not a great deal of difference between Jaguar/Jazzmaster bodies, and they chamber Jazzmasters. it would be worth a call to find out if that's just an oversight in the builder and chambering actually is available.

I hadn’t looked at average body weight in the showcase, I’ll have to look into that. I’ll probably still shoot them a call to confirm if that’s something they do. The Jaguar I have now is Fender and it feels like it’s 13 pounds at least. (Maybe a slight exaggeration, but it’s an anchor)

Many Jaguar/Jazzmasters are pretty heavy. Not 13lbs, but still. The older ones were mostly swamp ash, which can be hefty due to that and the body size. Swamp Ash is lighter than regular Ash, but that's like saying iron is lighter than lead. Newer ones are more often Alder, which is (or can be) lighter. It's tough to predict, as wood density varies within a species, or even from the same tree. For instance, Swamp Ash is only lighter if you get the wood from the lower 6-8 feet of the trunk that's always being washed/dried as the swamp water depth changes. Makes it kinda like driftwood.
