Can't decide!

I plan to order a 1 piece Vintage-Modern Tele neck soon, but I'm having trouble deciding which wood.  I'm considering between roasted maple, padouk, and canary. I have a strat neck in roasted maple so I know what to expect with that wood. Of these 3 woods, I would be using it unfinished. I also might go with a quarter sawn maple in satin nitro.  Can anyone give me their thoughts on these to help me decide?

Thanks

Hi there,

Don't take too much stock in what people say on the internet.  We're all a bunch of yobs who are just opinionated, well, you know that old joke "what's the difference between a bass player and a proctologist"... :)

Buuuut, I've got multiple warmoth telecasters with the following necks:  Satin finished maple, unfinished Roasted maple, and unfinished canary.

I like the unfinished roasted maple the very very best, with canary coming second.  roasted maple is almost a dream wood.  It even smells good!

The satin finished maple guitar, although a very fine guitar, has been relegated to be the 'outside gig' guitar.  That is, the guitar I don't mind if it gets rained on.  :)

There you go!  My $0.02  Take it from there fellas!

In the FWIW department, I got a roasted maple neck a while back and was so happy with it, I've just stayed with it. I mean, why mess with what works? I now have four roasted maple necks, one with a rosewood fret board. I entertain something different now and then, but...

Now an even bigger problem.  Deciding which roasted maple neck has the best grain pattern!

Warmoth's photography department does a fantastic job, but I've always found myself pleasantly surprised when the item shows up for real. Picture's worth a thousand words, but they don't always catch all the nuance, especially with figured woods.

I decided to go with a fairly straight grained neck.
