Everyone needs a summer project right?

Plan: take the maple / pao ferro neck off of my smokin new Tonar Tele, the Lollar pickups off of my thinline, bridge from same, add a strat pup to the middle, paint it amber / tru oil, or maybe just a bit of dye then spray can nitro. Have the best Nashville Tele ever, to use for a simple & versatile gig geetar. Also an excuse to buy a more high class neck for the Tonar tele.

Already ordered a matte black guard and chrome bits - basically a trad tele with wicked pickup choices (P90, strat, tele bridge).

Do I need it? heck no. But one more little tele can't hurt, right?

Basically just this, with more orange in the body and the neck also more of an orangey brown.

There is no need! Only GAS!

I know, this project is breaking you guys' hearts. You are all going, "don't do it!"  "you have more than you can play already!"  :help: :help:

BTW, where did you find a picture of the GAS demon that haunts my dreams?

I believe it is. What a great movie (ok, not really, but I love the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man).  :laughing7:

EDIT: Oh yeah, the Tele...right. You want another guitar? Giv'er!

The demon is omnipresent. You do not suffer alone. He haunts all our dreams.

That demon is just Zuul, the Gatekeeper, one of Gozer's minions. He exhorts you to build guitars by giving you GAS, so that you may bear them as gifts for Gozar. There are many minions Gozer may call upon to do his bidding.

I was with you until the part about taking your other guitars apart.

Side note: we sell Ecto 1 license plates at the comic book store.

Actually part of the plan is to sell that walnut thinline. The thin neck is just so hard to go back to after my other guits and my acoustic all have chunkier, 59 or srv type necks. Five 6 string electrics is my personal upper limit for # of guitars, since I'm usually playing the acoustic in the band anyhow. I could allow myself another acoustic, a mandolin, or keys, but not six electric guitars.

BTW, lap steel is fun! I'm about to start steel lessons. Got the cheap Rondo steel and a SD cool rails of the bay, have Gotoh tuners on order. The original tuners and pup are just garbage, but other than that it's a great little plank of wood in a nice case.

All rosewood, block inlays, 6130 frets dressed by Rudy's Music Stop to absolute perfection. Hand carved bone nut by yours truly. Make me an offer by pm. I'm not in a rush to sell it, but at some point this summer I will. I'd like to sell the whole thing, minus pickups and bridge, as a unit, if possible. Hint, hint.....

haha, well I do need a tele neck, but I am not in a rush either, I have 2 other projects to complete before then, maybe 3..
maybe if / when I get rich later this summer, I may be interested in the whole set!
