This has nothing to do with Warmoth, but since we're all players thought ya might enjoy this kid... he's like 16 or 17 from France- if ya haven't seen him before he's worth watching.

This was arranged by a Taiwanese guy named JerryC.  He plays it way more cleanly, too.  Of course this kid is still pretty damn good!  :party07:

Yeah, I definitely like this kids playing more than JerryC...  he totally owns this performance.  great melodic phrasing, and control and etc etc

I can't play well enough to play that... but - I don't WANT to play that. That sort of thing isn't what got me jazzed about electric guitar in the first place. It's impressive, but I view it as a sort of novelty. Does anyone really enjoy listening to it?

I didn't look at the vid because I didn't want to depress myself.  I stopped going to concerts since I went to the last G3 concert.  When I got home, I didn't know whether to be inspired or to burn my guitars.

Yet another kid who needs to learn the value of a good rock face.  THere is that one part where he opens his mouth really wide, but the rest of the time it's like he's in pain.  Really though, he's pretty alright.

I agree with your sentiment.  There are a million and one peeps who can play a killer guitar riffs but can't write a decent song to save themselves. Still, I wish I had the dexterity of that guy to rock out occasionally!

Ehh say what you want, But I'd give my left nut to be able to play like that.  :toothy12:
:rock-on:

We should ask him how much he practiced to get to that point. I'm lucky if I can play an hour a day anymore. Plus you need the drive to want to be able to do that.

that makes me feel homocidal :evil4:

reminds me of a Mark Twain quote about Wagner - "(his music) is better than it sounds" :icon_biggrin:

Nice, a buddy of mine sent me that a while ago.  I still like seeing all of the people cover it in various ways.  One kid that really tears it up (from a pure shredding perspective) is Cesar Huesca.  He does a nice "Friends" by Satch as well.

I don't know, I guess the thing I can't stand about all these guys is how miserably unhappy they all seem. Maybe it's that "tortured artist" thingy.

You want ROCK FACE, I give you ROCK FACE!

That my friend is suck a lemon face.  Also, he should just get a piano at that point.

What I keep asking is "why are these guys (kids) sitting in their bedrooms?". The obvious answer is that they're no big deal. In '83 whan I 1st heard Malmsteen, I was impressed. However, for the next 10 years, when everyone and his brother-including Malmsteen-tried to out Yngwie Yngwie, I realized that shred wasn't all that special, or particularly difficult. Neither was it unique. If people did their homework, they'd see that Jimmmmmmi, EVH, Yngwie, SRV, etc., were hardly original, just very good sponges who soaked up lots of info from sometimes disparate sources and spit it out in highly marketable fashions.
