I really want to build myself a VIP with a 24.75 inch scale length, but I believe the VIP is supposed to have a 25.5 inch neck.  Or can I just put a 24.75 in neck on a VIP body and be fine?  Sorry if this is a dumb/newb question (old player, but a first time build here).

Thanks guys!

You just order a conversion neck.
here's my VIP with a 24.75 conversion neck.

Just get the Warmoth 24.75 conversion neck and you'll be fine. All Warmoth bodies are 25.5 scale and their conversion necks make it 24.75. If you ever want to make it a 25.5 scale, you just get a new neck. I have a VIP I've had both scales on. Welcome to the forum.  :occasion14:

Yep, following what they said, the 24.75" and 28.5" conversion necks will work on any of the 25.5" bodies. The ones that wont are the 24" and the 7/8 stuff.

Welcome. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave...  :icon_jokercolor:

Thanks guys!  Now it's time to build my shred machine  :headbang1:  If only you could get 24 frets on 24.75 in neck.  Oh well.  For WAY less than the price of a custom 24, I think I can do without.

You can get 24 frets on a 24.75" scale by going to the 7/8 series and a "Warhead" neck. Within the 7/8 series, they are only offering a Strat or a Tele body, but - I'll be darned if I can't figure out why you couldn't just order a Soloist or VIP or something and pay the $45 charge to have the bridge pickup nudged a bit north... :icon_scratch: It would only work on a hardtail, and you'd have to drill for your own bridge, but that's OK for me.
