Can a photo quality picture be applied to a pick guard?

I am wondering if there is way to have a high res photo quality picture applied to a pick guard and covered with a clear finish. I want the entire pick guard to be covered with one unbroken pic.  I am interested in having someone else do it or doing it myself, but would prefer to have someone else do it.

I hadn't thought of that. That's an excellent idea! Protects the picture, eliminates any chemistry issues and is easily maintained or changed.

Yes, depending on how much you sweat and how tightly the pickguard is screwed down.  I could see a particularly sweaty player's photo getting all munged up if their salty exudations capillarify back behind the pickguard.  Best to print your photo using waterproof inks.

And yes, those are words.  I should know. I made them up.

I would say that seems unlikely, but I've also seen some SRV videos where "Texas Flood" wasn't the name of the song so much as his physical reaction to playing in front of hot lights under the influence of of powerful stimulants. That guy could sweat, is what I'm sayin'. I've seen people get out of swimming pools that didn't drip so much. It's a wonder he didn't suffer slip 'n' fall accidents on stage all the time.

Also, good job on the language. Your law professors would be proud  :icon_biggrin:

I was thinking printing the photo too and was similarly struck by the beautiful simplicity of putting a photo under a clear pickguard. It ha the added beauty of being able to replace the picture after breakups

If you check around locally, there are probably quite a few places that do laminating. Photo lamination has come a long ways since the plastic sheets you fed through a laser printer. Now they can do thin coatings, and they'll keep the (variously-sourced) moisture and grunge out. And probably some UV protection too boot, to forestall fading. If you're really lucky, it'll also be a tad stickity too, the better to keep it from sliding around. And/or maybe help you to eventually remove it without using a scraper.

Of course, the photo subject, while not having a staple thru their navel, may have a screw in their ear. And a pickup or two in interesting places. Maybe you should just go with a nice sunset. Hmmm. A "sunburst pickguard". Interesting.

Hehe! Way to be polite. Nobody ever wants to mention dead skin cells, sweat, drool, beer, dirt, hooker dust, body oils, perfumes, smoke, bacteria, viruses, etc.

Of course, I'm a shameless sociopath, so...
