If you check around locally, there are probably quite a few places that do laminating. Photo lamination has come a long ways since the plastic sheets you fed through a laser printer. Now they can do thin coatings, and they'll keep the (variously-sourced) moisture and grunge out. And probably some UV protection too boot, to forestall fading. If you're really lucky, it'll also be a tad stickity too, the better to keep it from sliding around. And/or maybe help you to eventually remove it without using a scraper.
Of course, the photo subject, while not having a staple thru their navel, may have a screw in their ear. And a pickup or two in interesting places. Maybe you should just go with a nice sunset. Hmmm. A "sunburst pickguard". Interesting.
