Build Idea: 7/8 Dan Smith-era / Jeff Buckley homage Tele?

Was daydreaming about this - a 7/8 Tele in Light Yellow with a 2pc maple neck, a Duncan Hot Stack in the bridge position, top loader bridge.



Not sure how I would go about getting a chromed 7/8 pickguard to go full Buckley, otherwise a W/B/W pickguard would work.

I’d have to reshape the headstock to a Tele profile, and I’d have to find a bridge to stand in for the Schaller Freeflyte… this WD AmStd bridge looks pretty similar:


Jeff Buckley and “Grace” actually got me into the Tele in the first place, although I have enough Teles to not care about doing a perfect replica.

I could even go to a 24” scale neck with a Tele headstock, I have done this before with a 7/8 Tele and it’s a great combo.

What do you think, cool or uncool?

Well with 7/8 bodies, you are regulated to a 24” scale neck. The way you worded it makes it seem like you had another option.
